Commander's Corner

Commander Mike Cunningham

As the newly elected commander of VFW Post 9236, I am very excited to work with our new team of elected officers, all committees and every member of our post. Our goals should be unified to make the post as successful as possible. As the commander I will be fully transparent to the membership, every member has the right to know what is happening at the post and in our community involvement. We as post members need to work together with the Auxiliary to accomplish our goals. I have set a goal to make Post 9236 an all state post for the year 2025-2026. This is not an easy goal to reach, we will be holding membership drives along with a buddy poppie drive, we will put committees together for patriots pen and voice of democracy. We also need to be more involved with the local schools, boy/girl scouts troops and our surrounding community. All of this will take volunteers, we have a strong post with a lot of energetic personnel let’s get started!

Let’s not forget our most important goal, HELPING VETERANS! We are going to get more involved as a Post to support the veterans village and to meet all obligations that district and department have for helping the needs of homeless veterans.
